Detox Diet
When most people hear the words detox diet, safe detox diet, summer detox diet, or raw detox diet, they immediately think of the process used to rid the body of drugs or alcohol. Detox diet now has a new meaning. An easy detox diet is a process used to get rid of dietary and environmental toxins from the body through the use of diets and herbs.
The human body takes in numerous dietary and environmental toxins that are harmful.Some of these toxins include food additives, cigarette smoke, pollution, pesticides, and cleaning products. These toxins build up in fat cells over time. Without proper nutrition, the body is unable to get rid of these chemicals and they build up even more. The purpose of the Detox Diet is the rid the body of these toxins.
A fast track detox diet is typically a short term diet which can be a 1 day detox diet, 3 day detox diet, 5 day detox diet or 21 day detox diet. It focuses on foods that are good sources of antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients that the body needs to detoxify. The Detox Diet minimizes the chemicals taken in by the body. Part of the Detox Diet is consuming water and foods high in fiber that help increase urination and the number of bowel movements, which helps eliminate toxins from the body.
There are many types of Detox Diet plans to choose from. If this is your first time, it may be best to use the gentle Detox Diet plan. Other Detox Diet options include herbs, supplements, special foods, exercise, and hydrotherapy. Some plans even target specific parts of the body. You can have a program customized to meet your needs if you visit a homeopathic doctor. Before you get started on a Detox Diet, it is best to consult your primary health care provider.
Detox Diets are recommended one to two times per year. They should not be used more than three times per year, unless otherwise instructed.
People who have been diagnosed with anemia, diabetes, kidney disease, eating disorder, autoimmune disease, thyroid disease, cancer, terminal illness, specific genetic diseases, and other chronic illnesses should not use the Detox Diet or should only use under the direct supervision of a primary health care provider. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not use the Detox Diet. Children should also not use the Detox Diet.
Side effects of the Detox Diet include headache, which is frequently due to caffeine withdrawal. Other side effects include diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, hunger, irritability, fatigue, and acne. If any symptoms worsen or new symptoms occur, you should visit your primary health care provider.
